The road
Lima-Puerto Bermúdez is an amazing exemple of the
geographical diversity of Peru.
Getting out from
Lima city, the road climbs over deep
narrow cliffs to arrive to the largest pass in Southamerica -4880 meters
high- called
Ticlio de Anticona. In the miners city of
Oroya,
we leave behind the hard and metallic colour of mountains and we go down a
labyrintic toboggan towards
La Merced.
We are in the Ceja de Selva, the entrance of the amazon
rainforest. The Huancabamba river, sourrounded by a luxury
lanscape, take us to Villarrica city, the coffee capital of
Peru.
A few kilometres after, in the little village of Cacasu,
the road goes inside the National Reserve of San Matías San Carlos.
The path pass trough the dense jungle, crossed by beautiful streams and
waterfalls until it arrives to Puerto Bermudez.
